A Poem for The First of May

Quotes and Notes #177, May 1

  • “Spring’s last-born darling, clear-eyed, sweet,
  •  Pauses a moment, with white twinkling feet,
  • And golden locks in breezy play,
  •  Half teasing and half tender, to repeat
  • Her song of ‘May.’”
  • Susan Coolidge (pseudonym for Sarah Chauncey Woolsey)—

Aaaah, The first of May—first of May. So many delightful things begin today. The beginning of a most wonderful, happy time of the year as the flowers begin their profusion and the air is clear and cool.

Let us rejoice today. Let us throw up our hands and laugh into the heavens.

And share a big, big smile.

Everything is going to be all right.

John P. Schulz  “Sweetie Drives on Chemo Days.”

First of May, flowers in profusion.

First of May, flowers in profusion.
