“Immensity to dream in”

Quotes and Notes #178, May 2

Today’s article is halfway to the goal of one a day for a year. A personal milestone.

“A garden to walk in and immensity to dream in–what more could he ask? A few flowers at his feet and above him the stars.” —Victor Hugo, Les Miserables

Today it will be easy to find a garden to appreciate. We can look at all of the lush new green growth and at the newly-planted spring flowers. The corn fields are newly plowed and await the magic seeds that will produce our major food crop.

And the diversity of it all astounds me. The size of gardens ranges from a spindly geranium planted lovingly in an orange-juice can by a kind country grandmother to the sculptured grandness of Versailles. Sometimes I feel that the entire world is my private garden. I will share it with you.

After seeing the garden, it should be easy to share a smile.

Everything is going to be all right.

John P. Schulz   “Sweetie Drives on Chemo Days.”

A garden to walk in and stars above to gaze upon.

I am learning just digging in the dirt brings a kind of peace…..I am planting rocks in a path alongside the house. Don’t think they will grow but I am enjoying “planting” them. I am making a walkway with stones and finding some peace.
