The Best Years of Your Life are…

Quotes and Notes #228, June 27

“The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.”—Albert Ellis—

I can accept whatever happens and say, “It’s my fault.” Or I can look at whatever happens and say, “It’s someone else’s fault.” I can blame it on the heavens or go into denial, lie to myself, and pretend it never happened.

But, in the end, it’s my life. If I desire happiness, I can just accept life as it comes to me and move on. In this manner, I can choose my own attitude. My attitude is one thing that is mine, and mine alone. I cherish it.

I will smile often today and share happiness
Everything is going to be all right
