The Night Bloom Cereus Wakes up Laughing in The Early Morning

Quotes and Notes #215, June 13

“I take humor very seriously. I also take it three times a day, with meals.”–Jarod Kintz–

My mother said that a good sense of humor is a sign of intelligence.

I think that a good sense of humor is sexy, too. My wife wakes up laughing almost every morning. That pleases me.

Cultivate and nurture your sense of humor. It makes life much more enjoyable and it makes misfortune easier to handle.

There’s no Rush…

Quotes and Notes #209, June 7

“Patience and wisdom walk hand in hand, like two one-armed lovers.”—Jarod Kintz—

Intelligence, looking for a concept, asks, “I wonder what would happen if…” Wisdom guides patience down the road to finding out, slowly. If we are impatient in finding the answer, bad things may happen.

One of my favorite rules to live by is, “If you get in a hurry, you will mess up.” I’ve found, over and over in my life that if I take my time in pursuing any endeavor, large or small, the results will be much more pleasing.

Take Your Time, Enjoy the Ride

Quotes and Notes #164, April 17

“I told her I’d wait forever for her, but that was before I found somebody else who’d give me a ride home.”—Jarod Kintz, “This Book is Not For Sale”—

I was patiently looking for a suitable sensitive quote on patience when I came across this wonderful observation that makes my point with humor.

I have been a professional plant tender for over forty years and I have been forced to learn patience. I have, for instance, had the pleasure of starting plant pruning and shaping projects that take years to show the desired results and are never finished. You see, as in other endeavors, the joy is in the process—not in the end result.

So take the side roads in some of the things that are going on in your life. Be patient. Enjoy the scenery along the way.

And never forget to share a smile.
