Make Someone Happy

Quotes and Notes #140, March 24

“Try to make at least one person happy every day. If you cannot do a kind deed, speak a kind word. If you cannot speak a kind word, think a kind thought. Count up, if you can, the treasure of happiness that you would dispense in a week, in a year, in a lifetime!”–Lawrence G. Lovasik

It seems to me that if you follow these directions, one of the people you will make happy every day will be you. It pays off with interest.

Share a smile.

Smile at the Sky

Quotes and Notes #134, March 17

“We cannot stop the winter or the summer from coming. We cannot stop the spring or the fall or make them other than they are. They are gifts from the universe that we cannot refuse. But, we can choose what we will contribute to life when each arrives.”–Gary Zukav

Yesterday was a beautiful spring day. Everyone I saw had at one point during the day raised their face to the sky and shared a smile with nature’s glow. Whether I saw them do it or not didn’t really matter because it showed in their demeanor.

I asked my favorite question, “What can I contribute?”

We shall see.

Share a smile with the world.

Everything is going to be all right.

Tears, Joy, and Listening

Quotes and Notes #107, February 18,

“If I can see pain in your eyes then share with me your tears. If I can see joy in your eyes then share with me your smile.”–Santosh Kalwar

When someone shares their tears with you, listen quietly, listen totally without trying to think of a reply. Listening is the best therapy that you have to share with your friend or with yourself.

When someone shares their smile with you, join in their feelings of joy.  When they laugh, laugh with them and slap your knee. Go out into the world and share the joy.

My brother told me of meeting Uncle Emile who was a deaf mute. When Uncle Emile thought something was funny, he would get a look of glee on his face with his mouth silently open as he rocked back in his chair and slapped his knee. I will carry that picture in my mind today.

Everything is going to be all right.

Keep Singing.

Quotes and Notes January 7, 2015

“Be as a bird perched on a frail branch that she feels bending beneath her, still she sings away all the same, knowing she has wings.”–Victor Hugo

Be content today in knowing that you have the ability to deal with any problems that present themselves. Be happy today, jump up and down and laugh. Share a smile.
