Adventures are Good

Quotes and Notes #152, April 5

“Gravel roads support opportunities.”–Tom Schulz–

Do you sometimes feel like your life is stuck in the fast lane on the interstate? Are you a bit up tight because you are stuck in a mental traffic jam?

Take a break, turn off on a side road. Enjoy the change and if this is still to crowded to suit you, well, then…

Take a walk on a gravel road and see what direction that takes you in. You may be pleasantly surprised.

If you are unable to take on this adventure physically, then picture the gravel road in your mind and enjoy the walk through the wooded hillside’s natural garden. Even if you are totally incapacitated you may still, in your mind, kick up your heels and grin and giggle.

Don’t forget to share a smile

Tears or laughter?

Quotes and Notes #81, January 21

“Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning to do afterward.”–Kurt Vonnegut

Practicing calmness and deliberation before responding to a stressful situation will make the reaction more effective. Hesitate, think, and relax a bit before taking action. Look for the good side, there usually is one. Find the humor. Share a smile.
