Enjoy the sunshine and then share the good feelings

“Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.”—James M. Barrie—

Being nice, giving kindness, and sharing happiness can be the most rewarding investments that you ever make. Buy some stock and reap the dividends.

Enjoy your afternoon in the sun. Sing a little song to yourself

Today, Laugh a Little

Quotes and Notes #258, July 20

“A light wind swept over the corn, and all nature laughed in the sunshine.”—Anne Bronte—

Laughing in the sunshine is important. It’s almost as important as laughing in the rain. Today, I am going to take whatever comes, sunshine or rain, and just have a good time with it.

And I will share smiles all over my corner of the world

Everything is going to be all right

Scattered Along Life’s Pathway

Quotes and Notes #232, July 2

“The sun—the bright sun, that brings back, not light alone, but new life, and hope, and freshness to man—burst upon the crowded city in clear and radiant glory. Through costly-coloured glass and paper-mended window, through cathedral dome and rotten crevice, it shed its equal ray.”—Charles Dickens, “Oliver Twist—

That, my friends, is a beautiful piece of writing. The sun shines down equally for each of us. Joseph Addison gave us another insight way back in the early 18th century:

“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.”—Joseph Addison

So take heed, scatter some smiles along the pathway

Bring Your Own

Quotes and Notes #143, March 27

“Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.”–Anthony J. D’Angelo

BYOS—A great idea! When you show up with your own bright attitude it has a tendency to spread and engulf everyone else in the room.

When you show up in the mornings of your own life with a smile and a pleasant thought, it has a tendency to last you throughout the day.

The statement, “Everything is going to be all right” is more of an attitude than a prediction. Use it as a mantra. Don’t wait for someone to say it to you, say it to yourself.

Everything is going to be all right.

Sunshine, Smiles, and Flowers

Quotes and Notes #141, March 25

“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but good trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.”–Joseph Addison

I had a friend named Leon. I always looked forward to seeing him because he always shared a smile with me. I knew that he had endured a lot of hardships and that he had lost his wife to cancer, but he always had a smile for me. Leon died a few years ago.

Leon lives on in my mind, though. I can still picture him walking down 4th Avenue with his shoulders back and a big smile on his face.

I hope that I will be remembered like that—What a legacy.

Spread some sunshine…It’s easy

Everything is going to be all right
